Coach Hardware Information |
| CoachLab hardware is designed by educators at CMA to provide features useful to educators and students. All Coach hardware is capable of being used for inquiry-based hands-on learning and exploration in science, math, and technology education. CoachLab hardware is compatible with sensors that use BT type connections and work with 0 to +5 volts D.C. or -10 to +10 volts D.C. This makes Coach 100% compatible with Vernier™ brand probes and sensors as well as many other brands. All CoachLab hardware is compatible with Coach software. |

ULAB: Universal Lab Interface |
ULAB Portable Data LoggerDesigned for Portable OR Laboratory Use
Portable self contained data logger for real-time measurement, recording, and display of data in Science, Math, and Technology experiments. { Ideally suited to the needs of Biology and Ecology teachers. }

| ULAB is a 100% portable data collection device that can be used in one of three ways: as a stand-alone device for measurements in the field, as a versatile multimeter for direct display of physical quantities, as an interface connected to a computer for real time display and analysis of data by the computer. ULAB is designed to be easy to use with only a few simple button presses required to set up an experiment and record data. Because ULAB is portable and self contained it is ideal for the needs of Biology or Ecology classes. Because ULAB can record data very rapidly from multiple sensors it is also ideal for the needs of Chemistry and Physics classes. | |

ULAB's Graphical Screen
ULAB has a large, easy to read LCD screen that allows for the display of data as graphs (in real time), tables of values, or as a multimeter (value only as large digits). The 128 x 64 pixel display also accommodates on-screen menus that make ULAB easy to set up and operate. |

ULAB is EASY to Use!
Viewing and Recording Data is as simple as pressing the red power button, plugging in a sensor, and pressing the green "record" button. Other buttons include "home" (always takes you back to the home screen), a menu button (for selecting options on whatever screen you are working on), an enter button, a graph button (always shows a graph no matter what screen you are working on), and four cursor keys to navigate menus. |

ULAB offers compatibility!
ULAB is designed to work with the other educational equipment that you may already own... or with the other educational equipment that you WANT to own. As a result ULAB is compatible with many different brands of sensors and probes including Vernier, TI, Pasco, and CMA. (an inexpensive physical adapter may be required for Pasco or older DIN type Vernier probes).
ULAB has four analog sensor inputs and two digital sensor inputs that use the BT style connector used by TI and Vernier sensors. Or build your own Sensor! It can be that easy!
ULAB is self contained and does not require a computer in order to operate, but can benefit from the processing, multimedia curriculum presentation, or storage capabilities of working with a PC. ULAB will work with older PC's via an included Serial Cable but also works with newer faster computers via USB connection via an included USB cable. |

ULAB is so easy to use you might not ever know that it is the most fully featured probeware product available for educational use today!
ULAB can be used to display data in multiple formats and in real-time but it also offers the ability to do triggered measurements, store multiple data sets in its memory in a time-date stamped format, record data from up to six sensors at a time, pinpoint the values of coordinates on a graph, zoom and pan on a graph, work in different languages, upgrade its sensor profiles and software, and gain additional capabilities in the future. If you use ULAB along with a PC and Coach Software (Student version is included for free on CD-ROM that comes with ULAB) you can expand your capabilities a thousand fold including the ability to upload, store, analyze, and manipulate data, create graphical mathematical models, analyze video clips for data, present lessons and curriculum topics in multimedia lessons, and much more.
