The predict tool in Coach software allows your students to draw on a graph before, during, or after an experiment in order to make a graphical hypothesis of what they think will happen in an experiment. The predict tool is also useful for teachers as a device to explain features of a graph. You can also use the predict tool to draw a graph and ask students to alter their experiment so that it will match the graph, thus showing that they understand how each variable in the experiment effects the outcome.
To use the predict tool simply click on the Window Toolbox button on a graph window and choose predict. The pointer will turn into an image of a pencil and you will be able to draw on the graph.

While you are predicting a box with the pointers current coordinates appears in the upper right hand corner of the graph window.

In order to stop predicting simply right click and choose "stop predicting"

If you wish to erase your prediction then click on the Window Toolbox menu and choose "Erase prediction"
The predict tool is unique to Coach software.
